Manila, get ready to be serenaded by one of South Korea’s most beloved artists. 10CM is set to perform live on August 31, 2024, at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City. This much-anticipated concert is brought to you by Cornerstone Concerts, the concert division of Cornerstone Entertainment, and South Korea’s Magic Strawberry Sound.

10CM, led by singer Kwon Jung-yeol, has been a significant force in the indie pop scene since its debut in 2010. Originally a duo, with Yoon Cheol-Jong as the other half, 10CM transformed into a solo act in 2017 when Cheol-Jong left. Jung-yeol has since carried the 10CM name with grace and talent, capturing the hearts of many with his unique voice and heartfelt songs.

Fans attending the concert can look forward to hearing some of 10CM’s chart-topping hits. Songs like “Tell Me It’s Not a Dream” from Queen of Tears, “Spring Snow” from Lovely Runner, “Drawer” from Our Beloved Summer, “Where is Dream” from Start Up, “But it’s Destiny” from Crash Landing on You, and “My Eyes” from Goblin have all resonated deeply with audiences, particularly those who are avid K-Drama fans.

10CM’s contributions to music have not gone unnoticed. In 2022, he won the Best Collaboration Award at the Melon Music Awards. Six years earlier, in 2016, he was honored with the Best Folk & Blues Album award at the same event. These accolades reflect his talent and the emotional connection his music creates to everyone.

In a recent interview we had with 10CM himself, he shared some insights into his musical journey and his thoughts on creating music for K-Dramas. When asked about his major musical influences and how they shaped his approach to singing for dramas, he said, “When it comes to my music influences, all I could think of right now are rock bands. When it comes to OST songs, I first thought, ‘Would my voice fit OST songs?’. But upon listening to other people’s advice and them telling me that there were songs that would fit me, it turns out these songs actually did fit me, which was a good thing.”

Fans often express deep connections with 10CM’s songs, noting how they resonate with the emotions displayed in the dramas. Reflecting on this, he shared, “When it comes to the songs, I’m very thankful whenever my songs are loved by the audience but there are times when I get scared as well. ‘What if the song wouldn’t fit the drama?’ and that’s all they would focus on. But I do my best to show my everything so there wouldn’t be an imbalance between the OST and the K-drama itself.”

In addition to his Manila stop, 10CM’s Asia tour includes performances in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan. Each concert promises to deliver the same heartfelt music and memorable performances that fans have come to love.
