Xiumin’s agency INB100 claims KBS blocked his “Music Bank” appearance due to SM, stating: “Recently, we were unofficially informed by KBS that it would be impossible for Xiumin to appear on [KBS] programs that feature SM Entertainment artists, including KBS2’s “Music Bank.”
However, KBS denied that stating: “The allegations are completely unfounded, the ‘Music Bank’ production team has been in continuous communication with Xiumin’s agency.”
Xiumin, Chen, and Baekyhun (CBX) have an ongoing contract dispute with SM, since they left the company on bad terms. Baekyhun was also missing in many award shows, although he was nominated and the best-selling male soloist of 2024. SM is known for this shady blacklist practice, so I believe One Hundred on this one. The company has and continues to block former artists, and TV stations go along with it, because they prefer working with newer SM artists rather than the older "problematic” ones.
