In an exposé released by former media reporter Kim Se Ui’s controversial YouTube channel, Garo Sero Research Institute, the aunt of Kim Sae Ron blamed actor Kim Soo Hyun for the actress’s death. She alleged that Kim Soo Hyun began dating Kim Sae Ron when she was 15 and he was 27, and that the relationship lasted six years. 1. The First Selfie
On March 24, 2024, Kim Sae Ron uploaded a photo with Kim Soo Hyun that quickly went viral, sparking relationship rumors and backlash aimed at Kim Sae Ron.
On March 27, 2024, Kim Sae Ron told media outlet My Daily that she had decided not to make any comments about the photo, which she had deleted from her Instagram.

2. The First Cheek Kiss
Korean news outlets obtained this photo of Kim Soo Hyun kissing Kim Sae Ron’s cheek after Kim Sae Ron’s aunt’s damning exposé went public on March 10, 2025. Her aunt, who is a close family friend, not a biological aunt, claims that Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron dated for six years, beginning when the actress was 15 years old.
3. The Third Selfie
On March 12, this photo of the pair began circulating online. In it, Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron appear to be going in for a kiss.
4. The Second Cheek Kiss
On March 12, Garo Sero Institute released more damning evidence of the pair’s relationship, including this never-before-seen photo of Kim Soo Hyun giving Kim Sae Ron a kiss on the cheek.
5. Kim Soo Hyun’s Military Selfies
On March 12, Garo Sero Institute leaked several photos that Kim Soo Hyun allegedly sent to Kim Sae Ron during his military enlistment. Kim Soo Hyun began his enlistment in October 2017, and the photos were allegedly sent sometime between 2017 and 2018. During that time, Kim Sae Ron would have been 17 or 18 years old.
6. Side By Side
On March 13, Garo Sero Institute revealed more proof of the pair’s alleged relationship. This photo appears to have been taken on the same day as the second cheek kiss selfie that was previously released by the YouTube channel.
